Saddam RIP

[Originally posted on goofyblog 1.13.07]

Now that Saddam has been hung, we have the spector of a rushed trial and execution (scads of irregularities in the proceedings, delayed judgement results then rushed appeals process, the hanging itself) on charges that were minor compared to what he did afterwards. This appears to be a way to silence him from bringing his affiliation over many years with the U.S. government and their complicity in many of his barbarian acts.

Milosovec, even though he was a genocidal butcher, was able to mount a strong defense in the World Court that surprised many. It was recommended that Saddam be tried in the World Court instead of by the Shia-Iraqi government, but this was not done. Can there be any other reason why it was not? Now, in the Arab lands, Saddam is enjoying martyr status.

A 10-minute slide show is now out set to Bing Croby singing Thanks for the Memory. Saddam was really just a product of the U.S. long-term, failed foreign policy. Check it out here.
